The Skin Texture Stack: Layering Treatments for Surface Quality
Texture complaints — roughness, visible pores, dullness, fine irregularities — rarely respond to any single device. Texture responds to a stack: clean, resurface, build, protect, in that order.
The Four-Layer Stack
- Clean (foundation): deep cleansing and controlled exfoliation clear the canvas — clogged pores mask every other treatment\’s result
- Resurface (monthly rhythm): non-ablative fractional or light IPL passes for tone uniformity
- Build (the texture engine): RF microneedling course — micro-columns rebuild dermal architecture over 3-4 sessions
- Protect (the multiplier): barrier care, SPF, and LED maintenance between energy sessions
Stacking Rules
- Never stack two resurfacing energies in the same week
- Cleansing days and energy days stay 3-7 days apart
- Every stack has a written 12-week arc — texture change clients can see needs the full arc, not two sessions
Device references for each layer: OPT for resurfacing-light, RF microneedling for the build layer; the cadence follows the six-month program structure compressed to a texture focus.
