Stretch Marks: What Device Courses Can Realistically Change
Stretch marks are dermal tears — and like scars, they respond to remodeling, not erasure. The device conversation goes well when clients hear the ceiling before the first session: texture, color and depth soften; marks do not vanish.
Maturity Dictates the Plan
- Red/purple stage (fresh): vascular activity makes this the intervention window — gentle vascular-wavelength light work and hydration protocols support the fading the body is already doing
- White/silver stage (mature): dermal remodeling is the only lever — RF microneedling leads, resurfacing lasers assist in lighter skin tones
The Remodeling Course (Mature Marks)
- RF microneedling, 3-4 sessions at 4-6 week intervals, depth set by zone anatomy (abdomen skin differs from thigh)
- Optional resurfacing passes in Fitzpatrick I-III for surface texture — with PIH caution per the prevention protocol
- Expected honest outcome: 20-40% visible improvement in texture and color contrast over a full course — photos at fixed light mandatory (the photography protocol exists for exactly this category)
Who to Route Elsewhere
Fresh postpartum bodies wait for medical clearance first; clients expecting erasure get the honest sentence before booking; surgical-scar-adjacent marks belong with the physician. The RF workhorse is gold-tip microneedling; zone and expectation framing borrows from the body zone map.
